Barolo
Enjoy a weekend at La Villa a picturesque boutique hotel in Piedmont - a stunning part of Italy.
On your first night, to set the scene for your stay, you will enjoy an exquisite seven course tasting menu prepared exclusively for you by a Michelin starred chef. This weekend in particular has been selected because it is the start of the region’s famous truffle season. The specially constructed seasonal menu will feature these delicacies, which will be paired with beautifully matching Barolo wines from a top wine producer who will talk you their selection in person.
Over the weekend you will have the opportunity to go on a truffle hunt with a professional hunter and his dog Rocky and will be treated to a delicious lunch using the truffles that you have found! You will then be able to relax and enjoy a leisurely afternoon in the 17th century hotel to await the evening’s delights. If you are feeling energetic, you will also be able to visit Asti to sample the annual truffle fair.
On your second evening, you will be served another exquisite seven course tasting menu, again with perfectly matched wines from a top producer.

The aim of the weekend is for you to relax and experience the delights of the region’s wines and its excellently prepared cuisine.
Optional activities that will be available on the weekend include a variety of spa treatments in the hotel, a truffle hunt and a trip to the annual truffle fair in Asti.

Wines:
Lots of top-rated Barolos!
La Spinetta - which is one of only two five star rated wineries in Italy - and Marchesi di Gresy (with the Marchesi himself talking you through the wines). These have been selected as they are two very different styles of wines - one very fine and delicate and the other big, elegant and structured.
Food:
The chef at San Marco restaurant in Canelli (a Michelin starred restaurant) will cook for you on one night. For the other night, the chef will be either from Donatella (another Michelin starred restaurant) or from I Bologna (which is one of the best rated restaurants in the region).
What’s included: a welcome drink, two lunches with wine, a glass of prosecco before dinner each night, two dinners (seven course tasting menus) with matching wines, your room for the two nights
